Dr. Jacob Lassin serves as Assistant Professor of Regional and Cultural Studies (Russia) at the Air Force Culture and Language Center.
He learned Russian at The College of William and Mary, and took a summer studying abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia. Subsequently, he studied for a year in Ufa, Russia, and earned the Ph.D. from Yale University in Slavic Literatures and Cultures in 2019.
Lassin has taught the Air Force's Generals in the GOPAC (General Officer Pre-deployment Acculturation Course), preparing them for the challenges of serving abroad.
