Dr. Jared Morgan McKinney is Assistant Professor of International Security Studies, Air War College

Research Interests: Deterring a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, periods of great power peace across world history, and Sino-American relations

Advising Interests: Chinese politics, East Asia, great power competition, Thucydides, Classical Realism, International Relations theory, and causes of war

Degrees: PhD, International Relations, Nanyang Technological University; Msc, International Affairs, London School of Economics; LLM, International Relations, Peking university; M.S., Defense and Strategic Studies, Missouri State University; BA, History, Patrick Henry College

Experience: Instructor, Assistant Professor, and then Chair, Strategy and Security Studies, Global College of Professional Military Education, Air University; Adjunct Professor, Defense and Strategic Studies, Missouri State University
