John Pomfret, award-winning journalist, on China. 

Acclaimed as “one of the most brilliant and insightful China experts of our day”—and prize winning of author of the recently published The Beautiful Country and the Middle Kingdom: America and China, 1776 to Present (2016) and a now classic book Chinese Lessons: Five Classmates and the Story of the New China (2006)  A Washington Post correspondent for two decades, he has lived in China for years as a student, correspondent and Senior Fulbright Scholar.  This promises to be an evening of extraordinary insights to better understand China, America and our relations.
