A former Ambassador to countries in the Middle East and Africa, and involved in the formation of the AFRICOM command, Joe Wilson has unique experiences from which to discuss US relations with Africa. Among these, he was the last American to interview Saddam Hussein; and undertook special missions regarding nuclear materials in Africa prior to the invasion of Iraq, 2003.
